Bag Check!
According to a CNN report, GAO investigators were able to get through 19 different airports with bomb components.  The investigators purchased the bomb components over the internet and at local stores for about $150.  They are expected to testify at a committe for oversight and government reform.  In their report, they will state that for the most part screeners followed appropriate procedures and policies but weaknesses in the system are the reason why they were able to get these components through

Well, as an ex-screener, I know how hard that job is.  I hate that the media puts shit out there like that without really letting the public know how difficult a job it is.  It’s a shitty work environment working for shitty supervisors that are incompetent with shitty co-workers that don’t want to be there, and shitty ass passengers who like to bitch about public safety but are more concerned about missing their flight.  They get all mad if a bomb gets through but when you tell them you have to search their bag for security reasons they start screaming about how they are not a terrorist.  I would be like, “Bitch, I don’t know you.”

Every time the news puts out some report like this, upper management has some reactive answer that solves nothing.  They don’t know their ass from their sister’s titty.  On one side they want safety and security, but then they are bitching about how many people you can get through the lane in an hour.  Which is it?  You want them on the plane fast, or you want me to make sure no bombs get down on the plane?  You can’t have it both ways, and I don’t think they’ve realised that yet.

Anyway, I don’t have to put up with that shit anymore, but I still have friends that do and seeing stuff like this just frustrates me because I know what it’s really like.

Rain, Rain, Come This Way
So, in Atlanta yesterday the governor led a small prayer service on the steps of the capitol building to pray for rain.  Atlanta hasn’t had any measurable rain in months, and it’s expected that in less than 100 days they will be out of water.

You can’t make it rain, so all you can do is pray for it, so that’s what these people did.  In response, 20 idiots protested the prayer service calling for a separation of church and state.

Okay, some people are just fucking retards.  Yeah, I am moderately religious, but I also believe in a separation of church and state.  Is praying for rain REALLY hurting anything?  Seriously.  A separation of church and state is really like… let’s not use religion as a basis for laws.  Like adultery is a sin but it’s not criminal.  You know what I mean?

Praying for rain?  Give me a fucking break.  That is why this country is going to hell.  At this point Georgia needs all the help it can get when it comes to rain.  Praying isn’t going to hurt anything, if anything, it should help.  That’s what people need anyway.  Maybe if you prayed a little more, you wouldn’t be so fucked up.

Crack Smokers Out of Jail Sooner
For some strange reason, the federal government is considering lowering the jail time for those who were convicted of crack cocaine offenses.  Meaning, anybody in jail now could get out of jail sooner, and those who go to jail in the future won’t go as long.

Hmm.  What is the reasoning behind this?  Supposedly there is a disparity between jail time for those who were in possession of cocaine powder than for those who had actual crack.  Black advocates feel like this difference in jail time was an injustice for black people.  A person who had 100 grams of cocaine got the same jail time as someone who had only 1 gram of crack.

I’m not exactly sure how they turned this into a race thing.  Face facts, a lot of black people smoke crack.  It’s just the way it is.  If you sell or possess it, you’re going to jail.  How is this an injustice to blacks?  Why don’t you try to concentrate more on getting black people OFF the crack before you worry about how much jail time they are going to get.  If us black folk lay off the crack, it don’t matter how long jail time is.  D’uh.

This new change will affect almost 20000 prisoners and up to 2500 could be released next year.  So, my issue with this is… why?  You’re going to let convicted crack fiends onto the street earlier?  You are not going to make crackheads stay in jail longer?

Who came up with this?  It doesn’t even make natural sense.  I don’t know a whole lot about drugs, but I am told that crack is the worst because once you hit that shit, you’re pretty much hooked.  So people who sell this to other people who get them hooked, well, they should go to jail, and they should go to jail for a long time.  It don’t matter if they are black, white, Chinese, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Canadian, Swedish, Polish, Indonesian, Mongolian, Uzbeki [okay, now I am getting ridiculous] whatever.  I don’t give a damn. Your ass should go to jail.

Releasing crack fiends back on to the street!  There’s a brilliant idea.

I should run for president when I grow up.  I can make dumb ass decisions like that too
